Fox Takedown Sacramento

On Saturday, December 13, we're protesting in front of our local station to hold Fox accountable for poisoning our democracy. Although KTXL Fox 40 may provide accurate local coverage, we are bringing attention to – and protesting against - Fox 40’s payment of affiliate fees to the national Fox Network. Across the country, Fox affiliates collectively funnel about $7 billion per year into the Network, making local viewers and advertisers indirect sponsors of Fox’s highly partisan news coverage and political commentary. In effect, affiliate fees tie local stations to the broader Fox media machine, ensuring that money earned from Sacramento viewers contributes to sustaining the network’s controversial content and amplifying its reach.

FOX LIES, DEMOCRACY DIES - IT'S TIME TO FIGHT BACK

For far too long, Fox has spread division and falsehoods. They divide Americans by promoting Trump's hatred, fear and lies. Join us in saying enough is enough.

Stand up. Speak out. Together, we can show Fox their lies will not go unchallenged.

There’s parking in the neighborhood around the station. We recommend you bring water and your favorite sign!

Pramila Jayapal's Resistance Lab: OctoBER Virtual Organizing Training

Are you disturbed by the Trump Administration's aggressive, supercharged attacks on immigrant communities? As ICE gears up to further escalate their assaults, it’s up to us to stand together and protect our rights. That’s why we’re excited to invite you to our special Immigration Justice Resistance Lab training session. Congresswoman Jayapal, who was an immigrant rights' organizer before heading to Congress and is currently the top Democrat on the Immigration Subcommittee in Congress, will lead the training along with other experts in the field. We'll dive into the history of our immigration system, how the administration is using immigration to advance their authoritarian agenda, and where we go from here. We’ll also discuss concrete actions people can take to support immigrant communities and protect our democracy.

Interested in hosting a training with your friends and family on October 19th? We'll show you how! Simply fill out this form: https://forms.gle/BiDWWyNvrcj8oGY67. Once submitted, a member of our team will reach out the week of the event with all the tools and resources you need to host a successful training.

After We March, We Organize! Solidarity Warriors Indivisible Action Group

Mass demonstrations, like Hands Off!, NO KINGS, and Good Trouble Lives On, generate a tremendous amount of energy! We can't let that energy dissipate. We can harness it and turn it into action.

One of the first objectives of civil resistance movements is to attract more people to the movement and mobilize them into action. It has been demonstrated that no movement with 3.5% of the population engaged in continuous mobilization has ever failed - but they used other actions beyond mass demonstrations. Join us in planning actions to make this happen.

This week:

  • Sticker Design Party and

  • How to Plan a Visit to Your Representatives and Senators with Breakout Rooms for Republican or Democratic Legislators

The first sticker design party, one year ago, was a blast! It resulted in 10 unique, sometimes hilarious, and powerful Resistance Stickers. We distribute these for free across the country to show defiance and let others know they are not alone in their wish to take down fascism. Bring your best ideas! If your group wants help with graphic design, just give us the wording, and we're here for you.

We'll also dive into making a concrete plan to visit your state and federal legislators. This will include:

  • Locating your legislators' offices and finding out when they'll be there in person

  • Who should be in your group

  • How to prepare your "ask" (i.e., demands)

  • How to execute the visit

  • Breakout rooms to discuss strategies based on whether your legislators are Democrats or Republicans.

  • How to encourage Dems who are standing up to trump, and pressure those who aren't.

Solidarity Warriors is an action-focused, Indivisible group formed after the November election. We're one of the main groups organizing mass demonstrations in Denver. We're made up of people from across the nation, many in Colorado. We're focused on action rather than just airing political grievances, so please come prepared to talk about what you want to DO to resist the new administration and protect vulnerable communities.

What's the plan? With Indivisible's Co-Founders Leah and Ezra

The onslaught of news, the chaos coming out of the White House – it’s all meant to overwhelm us. It’s a deliberate strategy to sow confusion and make us believe we are powerless to fight back. The antidote: Coming together in community to process what’s happening, to sift through what’s important and what’s just noise, and coalesce around strategies for fighting back.

Join Indivisible co-founders Leah Greenberg and Ezra Levin each week, as we carve out an hour to discuss what’s happening and – more importantly – what’s the plan.

Guest Speaker: Progressive Colorado State House Candidate for HD3, Mike Barlow-Roach

Mike is the first gay immigrant to run for office in Colorado. We’ll hear about why he’s running, how his progressive values align very closely with Solidarity Warriors, and his personal story, including how he was deported for being gay in 2011 under the Defense of Marriage Act.

Stop Funding Billionaires Webinar

Stop Funding Billionaires Webinar

Stop Funding Billionaires that are propping up fascism!

Our cities are under attack by ICE and President Trump’s deportation agenda. Trillions of our retirement dollars and endowments are supporting the billionaires that are driving Trump’s deportation machine.

We can stop them! Join us Monday, December 8th 12noon PT / 2pm CT / 3pm ET for a webinar on how we stop funding the billionaires that are propping up fascism, undermining workers, and destroying our communities.

Register now! Billionaires like Elon Musk and Peter Thiel and their companies Tesla and Palantir have huge investments from our pension funds. They're using our money to attack our communities, destroy our jobs and steal our democracy—and they're driving the kidnapping and deportation of immigrant families today.

Our retirement funds and endowments should not be used against us and our communities. Labor leaders, community activists and pension experts are co-hosting a webinar on December 8th to share strategies for how we can fight back.

We’ll dig in on examples such as the Chicago Teachers’ Union’s Resolution For A Pension Fund that Provides A Dignified Retirement While Promoting a More Just Society from October 2025, community labor work engaging the California Public Employees' Retirement System and the University of California around their housing and climate investments, and the campaign that got New York’s pension fund to commit to no new money in fossil fuels.

Speakers will include:

Co-sponsored by ACRE/BCG, Climate Organizing Hub, Americans for Financial Reform Education Fund (AFREF) and AFSCME 3299

Protest ICE Recruiting at William Jessup U

  • Public sidewalks at intersection in front of William Jessup University (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Senator Roger Niello, Placer County Supervisor Bonnie Gore, Sacramento County Supervisor Rosario Rodriguez and Congressman Kevin Kiley are hosting an ICE government recruiting event at William Jessie University on 12/8/25 from 9:30am to 1:30pm in The Chapel and Event Center at 2121 University Avenue, Rocklin.

SIGN UP. SHOW UP at the corner of Sunset Blvd. & University Ave. PROTEST peacefully on public ground. William Jessie University is a private college. Don’t obstruct people seeking legitimate employment opportunities. Bring signs focused on ICE and Representative accountability- some examples include:

  • ICE out of (name your city or county)!

  • DUE PROCESS is the LAW - NO ICE!

  • STOP ILLEGAL FAMILY SEPARATION - NO ICE!

  • REP K KILEY - COMPLICIT WITH ICE! SHAME!

  • REP K KILEY - PROTECT YOUR COMMUNITY - FUND HEALTHCARE NOT ICE!

  • KILEY: Support HR4667 VISIBLE ACT- NO MASKS for ICE!

WRITE TO THESE GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AND TELL THEM TO GET ICE OUT OF OUR CITIES!

  • Roger Neillo: Phone: (916) 651-4006. Senator.Niello@senate.ca.gov

  • Bonnie Gore: phone: 916-787-8950 SupervisorGore@Placer.CA.Gov

  • Rosario Rodriquez Phone: 916-874-5491 supervisorrodriguez@saccounty.gov

  • Kevin Kiley Phone: (916) 724-2575 https://kiley.house.gov/contact He’s too chicken to post his actual email publically

Sample Script: My name is <your name> from <your town>. As a constituent (or member of this community,) I am outraged that our local Representatives are hosting a job fair at William Jessup University in which ICE, Customs & Border Protection (CBP), and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) are recruiting students. As documented in video footage, these programs have engaged in lawless and harmful behavior. Their conduct has been one of terror - even resulting in death during pursuits and incarceration. Our youth need jobs and entry into professions that will offer them a promising future - not entry into criminal life!

12/3/2025 Statement from Placer Dems:

DHS Enforcement Agencies at William Jessup University government Jobs Fair on December 8.

The Placer County Democratic Party appreciates Jessup University hosting a jobs fair, but we must be clear: We strongly condemn the presence of immigration enforcement agencies associated with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Originally, Congressman Kiley's office listed ICE as attending. The list was then corrected to include U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), alongside Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). See: https://kiley.house.gov/federal-jobs-fair

HSI and CBP are key partners in the indiscriminate, violent raids and racial profiling that violate the civil rights of our neighbors. Furthermore, all of these agencies are components of DHS.

USCIS, while handling lawful immigration benefits, actively coordinates with ICE and is still a DHS agency involved in the enforcement system. The attempt to substitute one agency for another does not change the fact that DHS enforcement is expected to be present.

The indiscriminate and violent raids occurring nationwide against immigrants are unconscionable. We stand fully with our immigrant families, friends, and neighbors who are being unnecessarily tormented and living in a state of fear.

We have a moral obligation to advise our Placer County community about the potential harms they may face, particularly our immigrant population wishing to attend.

Hold Congress Accountable >> National Phone Bank Training

Hold Congress Accountable >> National Phone Bank Training

Join our national phone bank training on Thursday, December 4 to come together with other concerned citizens and help build a movement to hold our elected officials accountable for their vote and demand that they restore full funding for health care, food assistance, and education.

President Trump and Members of Congress have just passed a budget bill that represents one of the largest transfers of wealth from the working class to the obscenely rich in American history. As a result of the legislation, 16+ million Americans will lose their health care and it will result in 51,000 preventable deaths; more than a million children will go hungry; and working-class Americans will not be able to afford college.

We are building a powerful movement to hold Congress accountable for their support for the 'disastrous piece of legislation’ and are organizing the millions of Americans in Congressional Districts across the country who are in danger of losing their health care or food assistance and let them know what has happened; who was responsible for these cuts; and invite them to take action to hold their Member of Congress accountable.

No working person should have to choose between getting the medical care they need and putting food on the table.

This isn’t about party politics.

It’s about priorities.

Resilience For Sustainable Activism
Dec

Resilience For Sustainable Activism

Many of us entered movement work out of urgency and many of us are exhausted by it. The Resilience Toolkit offers an embodied, justice-aligned framework for sustaining activism over the long arc of the struggle. Rather than treating burnout, reactivity and conflict as personal failures, The Toolkit helps us understand them as predictable stress and trauma responses - and equips us with real-time regulation skills that expand our capacity to stay engaged without collapse or numbness.

Together, we’ll explore: How stress and trauma shape movement behavior (withdrawal, escalation, fracture) and how embodied stabilization interrupts those patterns in real time

Embodied solidarity: how listening, repair, and collective care become possible only when the nervous system has enough bandwidth

Rest and joy as conditions of political strategy, not rewards for after the work is done

Practical tools to increase steadiness and discernment into movement, organizing, and mutual aid work

This conversation connects the inner work of healing and reflection with the outer work of solidarity and action — helping us build movements that are both resilient and humane.

“How we breathe, listen, rest, and relate is political.”

Whether you’re a longtime organizer, new to activism, or simply seeking to live your values more fully, this session offers inspiration and embodied tools to help you put solidarity into action every day.

Guest Speakers: Raven Payment and Tyler Crazybear

Raven Payment and Tyler Crazybear, two members of the Indigenous community, will give us a real history lesson on Thanksgiving and what has transpired for the Indigenous community in our country since then. You'll have plenty to talk to your relatives about over turkey the next day.

Raven Payment (Anishinaabe/Kanienʼkehá꞉ka) is a storyteller at heart and a grassroots advocate working to confront the crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous relatives through community action and policy change. A proud mother and U.S. Navy veteran who served in Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom, Raven serves on the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives Task Force of Colorado. Her past service also includes two terms as the co-chair of the Denver American Indian Commission and several years as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for children in the child welfare system.
