Prop 50 Vote YES Phone Bank – Protect California’s Voice!

Event Description:

Join us to call California voters in support of Prop 50! This critical measure is a direct response to MAGA Republicans in Texas and other states who are gerrymandering congressional maps to lock Democrats out of power.

During this phone bank, volunteers will:

➡ Call California voters to raise awareness about Prop 50

➡ Explain why fair maps matter and how gerrymandering undermines democracy

➡ Provide key dates for Vote-by-Mail and early in-person voting

Why this matters:

October People Power Action Call

Just days ago, millions of Americans exercised their First Amendment rights at No Kings events nationwide. But that right- the right to speak out, protest, and dissent- is under attack.

President Trump and his allies are using federal power to suppress political speech, intimidate journalists, and silence protestors nationwide. These attacks on the First Amendment threaten the foundation of democracy — our right to stand up, speak truth, and organize for change.

Join us on Tuesday, October 28th at 8 PM ET for our October People Power Action Call. You'll hear directly from ACLU experts and organizers on:

  • What these First amendment attacks mean for you and your community

  • How the ACLU is fighting back in courts and on the ground

  • Concrete actions you can take to defend rights where you live

Notice of Accessibility: The ACLU strives to create inclusive and accessible events that enable all individuals to fully engage with its programming. If you need accommodations to be able to fully participate in this event, please contact info@peoplepower.org.

Activist Hour - Tuesdays

This positive zoom call is a speedy survey of a great number of resistance and democracy-preserving ideas, strategies, and organizations. We go through a "Resource List" doc (link below) with live links to explore. Along the way, we share how to blend our passion, inventiveness, connection, and compassion. The a normal attendance of 10-30 fellow Americans, there is time to speak and connect - and be inspired by hearing what's happening in other places. Before the end of the hour, we discuss ways to renew ourselves (and our political party) so we can live a joyous life while being a solid, proud part of this growing resistance.

LINK TO THE RESOURCE LIST - plz save and share!

After We March, We Organize! Solidarity Warriors Indivisible Action Group

Mass demonstrations, like Hands Off!, NO KINGS, and Good Trouble Lives On, generate a tremendous amount of energy! We can't let that energy dissipate. We can harness it and turn it into action.

One of the first objectives of civil resistance movements is to attract more people to the movement and mobilize them into action. It has been demonstrated that no movement with 3.5% of the population engaged in continuous mobilization has ever failed - but they used other actions beyond mass demonstrations. Join us in planning actions to make this happen.

Solidarity Warriors is an action-focused, Indivisible group formed after the November election. We're one of the main groups organizing mass demonstrations in Denver. We're made up of people from across the nation, many in Colorado. We're focused on action rather than just airing political grievances, so please come prepared to talk about what you want to DO to resist the new administration and protect vulnerable communities.

Our guest speaker this week is Aurora from TransRooted, our lead Legal Observer at No Kings II. She'll talk about her experience as a legal observer and what we look for in new legal observers. She'll also announce a training to be a Legal Observer on Zoom on 11/6 at 5 PM.

Hear the Front‑Line Story Aurora lived the fight. As the lead Legal Observer for NK2, she protected demonstrators, documented police conduct and helped hold power accountable. Her firsthand accounts are raw, real, and packed with the lessons that only someone on the ground can deliver.

Learn What It Takes
Ever wondered what makes a great Legal Observer? Aurora will break down the exact skills, mindset, and tactics you need to become an indispensable part of any movement. From spotting rights violations to filing airtight reports, you’ll walk away with a clear roadmap of what we're looking for.

Connect With a Community of Change‑Makers
Zoom isn’t just a video call; it’s a virtual hub where activists, organizers, and allies converge. Build relationships, swap strategies, and find collaborators for future actions—all in real time.

Be Part of the Next Wave of Defenders
Legal observers are the eyes and ears that keep protests safe and accountable. By joining, you’re stepping into a vital role that amplifies every voice demanding justice.

Sierra College Voter Registration

We are an upbeat, positive, non-confrontational team. We use surveys to engage students. This "hook" provides us with the opportunity to talk to students and find out if they are registered to vote. It also gives us the opportunity to educate students and find out what their political views are and what issues matter to them. Because it is a non-election year, unless you count the Prop 50 (Please vote YES) special election, we expect a decrease in the number of students registering to vote. We will focus more on engaging students in political conversations and providing them with facts and accurate information.

What's the plan? With Indivisible's Co-Founders Leah and Ezra

The onslaught of news, the chaos coming out of the White House – it’s all meant to overwhelm us. It’s a deliberate strategy to sow confusion and make us believe we are powerless to fight back. The antidote: Coming together in community to process what’s happening, to sift through what’s important and what’s just noise, and coalesce around strategies for fighting back.

Join Indivisible co-founders Leah Greenberg and Ezra Levin each week, as we carve out an hour to discuss what’s happening and – more importantly – what’s the plan.

For our national audience, this information on the economic downside of prisons applies nationwide. The No Concentrnation Camps in Colorado project is a great example of collaboration among many groups to fight this disgusting injustice that can be replicated in your state.

WORKSHOP | Yes, you can host a house party!

How to Host a House Party Workshop for National House Races

Why host a house party?

Yes, door knocks, phone banks, postcards, rallies are all important organizing tools. But in 2025-26, we need to do something more and different to win. House parties can:

  • Reach voters outside of our political bubbles

  • Have friend and neighbor conversations with those who support our democratic values

  • Inoculate voters against the onslaught of right-wing media

  • Expand our volunteer base

Are you thinking about hosting a house party, but don't know how to get started? If you've never hosted one before (and even if you're a fellow introvert), or just want a refresher, join the Bay Area Coalition every Monday, 5 pm (PT) / 7 pm (CT) / 8 pm (ET) for our nationwide house party workshop ...

  • How to plan your house party

  • Tips and tools for hosting conversations with your friends, neighbors, colleagues

You'll leave the workshop fired up and ready to host your house party!

Hosted by Indivisible Sonoma County, part of the Bay Area Coalition.

Unpack the Compact Movement Call: Resisting Trump's Latest Attack on Higher Ed

Trump’s new “Compact to All Higher Ed” is a direct attack on students, faculty, and academic freedom. Join Public Citizen, American Association of University Professors (AAUP), and Amnesty USA, for a timely discussion on Trump’s new “Compact to All Higher Ed” — the latest attack on higher education, academic freedom, and student rights.

On this mass call, we'll cover:

📘 What’s in the compact?

⚖️ How it impacts students, faculty, and educators

✊ What you can do to protect higher education and resist authoritarian overreach!

This is a moment for students, faculty, and educators to come together — not just to react, but to organize for long-term protections that defend academic freedom, inclusion, and access for all.

Students and education workers across the US are organizing our schools towards mass non-cooperation on November 7th and on May Day 2026. Find out more at: studentsriseup.org

This is an event hosted by Public Citizen and co- sponsored by AAUP and Amnesty USA. By providing your mobile number and email address, you agree that these organizations may periodically contact you with additional opportunities to get involved in our campaigns. Activist Hour - Sundays

Democracy Dies in Silence – SAVE THE DATES!

One large event Saturday, October 25 and multiple small demonstrations Friday, October 31.

Build a Movement to Hold Congress Accountable >> October Text Bank

Build a Movement to Hold Congress Accountable >> October Text Bank

President Trump and Members of Congress have just passed a budget bill that represents one of the largest transfers of wealth from the working class to the obscenely rich in American history. As a result of the legislation, 16+ million Americans will lose their health care and it will result in 51,000 preventable deaths; more than a million children will go hungry; and working-class Americans will not be able to afford college.

We are building a powerful movement to hold Congress accountable for their support for the 'disastrous piece of legislation.' The first step is reaching out to Americans who will be impacted by this legislation.

In October we are going to text over 1,000,000 Americans in Congressional Districts across the country who are in danger of losing their health care or food assistance and let them know what has happened; who was responsible for these cuts; and invite them to take action to hold their Member of Congress accountable.

Now, it's time to harness that energy and turn it into action. As one of the main organizers of No Kings 2 in Denver, we welcome you to attend our After We March, We Organize! Zoom meeting every Wednesday at 6 PM MT / 8 PM ET. We'll discuss:

  • Our experiences at No Kings, and where we go from here.

  • The need for mass defiance

  • The pillars framework and how you and those gathered fit into them

  • Different noncooperation and defiance tactics

Disappeared In America Movement Call

Disappeared In America Movement Call

We are living through a defining moment for our country.

Across the nation, immigrant families are being targeted, detained, and disappeared — and these attacks are being weaponized as part of a broader authoritarian campaign to divide communities, silence dissent, and erode our most basic freedoms.

The Disappeared in America Weekend of Action — happening November 1–2 — is our collective response.

From protests at Home Depots, to vigils outside detention centers, to Day of the Dead events honoring lives lost to detention and deportation, thousands will take action to say we will not stand by as families are disappeared, rights are dismantled, and democracy itself is threatened.

Join this national call to learn how you can host or participate in an event, connect with others across the country, and help build a movement rooted in solidarity, compassion, and the defense of fundamental freedoms.

This is a moment that demands courage and collective action. Let’s rise together — to protect our communities, our democracy, and our shared humanity.

Solidarity Mobilizations: a 2-part training on showing up for immigrant communities, Part 2

Solidarity Mobilizations: a 2-part training on showing up for immigrant communities, Part 2

Across the country, immigrant communities are under attack and authoritarian forces are gaining ground. But there’s a growing movement of people ready to take action with clarity, courage, and discipline. This training is for all of us who want to stand up in solidarity, especially those of us who are white who are ready to organize, respond, and show up with commitment and care.

Join us for Solidarity Mobilizations, a powerful two-part training series hosted by Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) and Solidarity Organizing Initiative (SOI). We’ll break down the political moment we’re in, the authoritarian playbook driving these attacks, and the role those of us who are white and/or citizens can play in pushing back effectively and strategically.

Each session will have live transcription and will be recorded. The recording will be sent out to everyone who registers within 48 hours after each session.

In the first session, you will:

  • Learn to recognize and anticipate “Moments of Crisis” — and why they’re central to the authoritarian strategy

  • Understand how direct support and crisis response work together in immigrant justice organizing

  • Get grounded in the principles of strategic noncooperation and how it builds people power

  • Leave with everything you need to start a SURJ Circle and get organizing with your neighbors in your community

In the second session, you will:

  • Learn how to provide direct support for immigrant communities

  • Get clear on next steps you're taking in your community

Whether you’re brand new or have been in the fight for years, this training will give you political clarity, strategic tools, and an invitation to join us in deeper solidarity. This is just the beginning, let’s get ready together.

Prop 50 Vote YES Phone Bank – Protect California’s Voice!

Prop 50 Vote YES Phone Bank – Protect California’s Voice!

Prop 50 temporarily empowers the California Legislature to redraw maps for 2026–2030, ensuring fair representation, protecting voting rights, and giving California a stronger voice in Congress.

During this phone bank, volunteers will:

➡ Call California voters to raise awareness about Prop 50

➡ Explain why fair maps matter and how gerrymandering undermines democracy

➡ Provide key dates for Vote-by-Mail and early in-person voting

Why this matters:

➡ MAGA Republicans in other states are stacking the deck to weaken Democratic representation

➡ California could gain up to five additional House seats if Prop 50 passes

➡ Every conversation and every vote directly impacts national politics in 2026

Every call counts — your voice helps protect democracy and ensures California voters have fair representation!

Hosting a Stop the Healthcare Heist Event for the Shutdown Showdown

We need better healthcare, not less healthcare, but Trump and Congressional Republicans voted to send our healthcare costs skyrocketing to pay for tax cuts for billionaires.

With the government shutdown and Congress at at an impasse, now is a critical moment to tell the story of these harmful cuts, including more than $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, and the Affordable Care Act, and point to who is responsible for this pain. Without the tax credits, millions will be forced to pay nearly double for coverage or lose coverage entirely.

Join this virtual event to learn more about how to take action on healthcare, including hosting your own event to Stop the Healthcare Heist, sharing your healthcare story, and letting your member of Congress know that healthcare is important to you. You can create an event here: https://www.mobilize.us/economicsecurityproject/c/healthcare-heist/event/create/
