West Sacramento Good Trouble Lives On

  • Center for Spiritual Awareness 1275 Starboard Drive West Sacramento, California, 95691 United States (map)

Faith organizing—spiritual activism in action—has always been a powerful force in the struggle for civil rights, justice, and human dignity. As part of the John Lewis Weekend of Action, interfaith clergy and communities are coming together to honor Congressman John Lewis's legacy by inspiring civic engagement, voter education, and participation in democracy. Through worship, reflection, and action, we are called to make “good trouble” in the ongoing work of building a more just and inclusive society. The good news is this: God did not bring us this far to stop supporting us now. Join us this Sunday as we celebrate faith in action and recommit ourselves to the sacred work of justice, voting rights, and beloved community.

Good Trouble Lives On is a non-partisan weekend of action. We require that participants commit to not advocate for, endorse, or oppose any political candidate or ballot initiative. A core principle behind all Good Trouble Lives On events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
