Democrats from Placer County have organized a protest at the Sacramento affiliate of CBS, KOVR, to let them know we expect the media to stand up to Donald Trump, not capitulate to him.

This week, TV network CBS and its parent company Paramount Global fired The Late Show host Stephen Colbert after he criticized a $16 million settlement paid to Trump for an erroneous accusation of enhancing the content of an interview with Kamala Harris on 60 Minutes. Colbert dared to call it what it is - a bribe so Paramount’s Shari Redstone can enrich herself with an $8 billion merger that must be approved by the Trump Administration. Once again, Trump will get away with Russian Mafia style blackmail to silence his critics in the media. SHAME ON CBS for capitulating to Trump’s authoritarian attempt to crush the free press.

Please join in to protest CBS’s cowardice at the KOVR station, their local affiliate, on Monday, July 21st, from noon to 1 pm at the corner of Reed Avenue and Riverpoint Drive in West Sacramento. Please bring signs!
