Organizing to Protect Democracy: Protecting the Outcome of the Election

  • Virtual event - Join from anywhere! (map)

Our work doesn’t stop after the polls close. As the threat of authoritarianism rises across the US, attempts to undermine the legitimate outcome of our elections have become an increasingly used tactic.

These attempts try to override the will of voters, making the process of election certification even more critical.

Join the ACLU for our Organizing to Protect Democracy: Protecting the Outcome of the Election on Tuesday, October 13 at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT where we’ll discuss the core roles activists will play during the post-election phase when rapid response and mass mobilization are crucial.

During this session, you’ll:

  • Understand the counting and certification processes, and the role of transparency organizing during this phase

  • Learn how to prepare for rapid response organizing

  • Hear about sustained mobilizations and the unique tactics needed to continue organizing as long as it takes

The process after the polls close is a key component of our free and fair elections, all the way until the people we elect are sworn into office. We won’t allow President Trump or other officials to abuse their power to undermine our elections—join us October 13th.
