Organizing to Protect Democracy: August Session

  • Virtual event - Join from anywhere! (map)

Voting is a fundamental right—and protecting that right requires understanding what happens inside and around a polling place.

On September 9th, join ACLU People Power for Organizing to Protect Democracy: Understanding Who’s Who in a Polling Place, a virtual training on the roles people play during voting, and possible challenges that could threaten access to the ballot.

We’ll discuss common questions that come up at polling places and ways you can support a joyful celebration of voting rights in your community.

During this session, you’ll:

  • Understand what roles different people play at a polling place and potential challenges voters could face during voting periods

  • Review the role of people powered organizing to advance voting rights and celebrate exercising those rights this year

  • Determine what role you can play as a volunteer or activist during voting periods to safeguard the election

Democracy depends on people being able to exercise their rights freely and without intimidation, discrimination, or unnecessary barriers. Join us to learn more about the various roles held during the voting process—and the role you can play in protecting access to the ballot. Join us on September 9th.
