Since 1979, American workers have become far more productive, but most paychecks haven't kept up. Productivity has grown almost three times as fast as pay for a typical worker. CEO pay at the largest companies has gone from 21 times a typical worker's pay to 325 times. And the top 1% now hold more of the country's wealth than at any point since the Federal Reserve started tracking it in 1989. So where did the gains go, and why?
