President Trump and Rep. Kevin Kiley have passed a budget bill that represents one of the largest transfers of wealth from the working class to the obscenely rich in American history. As a result of the legislation, 16+ million Americans will lose their health care and it will result in 51,000 preventable deaths each year; more than a million children will go hungry; and working-class Americans will not be able to afford college.
We are building a powerful movement to hold Rep. Kiley and other members of Congress accountable for their support for the 'disastrous piece of legislation’ and are organizing the thousands of our neighbors across the district who are in danger of losing their health care or food assistance and let them know what has happened; who was responsible for these cuts; and invite them to take action to hold their Member of Congress accountable.
Join our phone bank on Wednesday, March 18th to come together with other concerned citizens and help build a movement to hold Rep. Kiley accountable for his vote and demand full funding for health care, food assistance, and education.
We will be calling people directly impacted by these budget cuts and helping them make meaning about what has happened; who is responsible; and invite them to take action to hold Rep. Kiley accountable.
No working person should have to choose between getting the medical care they need and putting food on the table.
This isn’t about party politics.
It’s about priorities.
WHAT YOU NEED: You will need a laptop and cell phone to participate in the phone bank, and we will sending instructions on how to log into the dialer that we will be using for the phone bank in advance of the phone bank.
