On Saturday, November 15, we're protesting in front of our local station to hold Fox accountable for poisoning our democracy. Although KTXL Fox 40 may provide accurate local coverage, we are bringing attention to – and protesting against - Fox 40’s payment of affiliate fees to the national Fox Network. Across the country, Fox affiliates collectively funnel about $7 billion per year into the Network, making local viewers and advertisers indirect sponsors of Fox’s highly partisan news coverage and political commentary. In effect, affiliate fees tie local stations to the broader Fox media machine, ensuring that money earned from Sacramento viewers contributes to sustaining the network’s controversial content and amplifying its reach.
