California has recognized 9/25 (or 9-2-5) as Dolly Parton Appreciation Day. She was a kind and generous person, constantly thinking about what she could do to help others. Her project, Imagination Library, donated 332,411,218 books to children.
We want to recognize her by doing our part to help others that day. Please come by the Auburn Interfaith Food Closet and drop off a food donation. They especially request canned fruit, meats and vegetables, hearty soups, pantry staples (flour, sugar, etc.), peanut butter, spices, rice, pasta, etc. September is Hunger Action Month nation-wide. We can do our part.
Dolly also loved books and literacy. Children who stop by the AIFC like to look at the books on hand and take one home. If you have childrens books to donate, please drop them off as well.
If you remember, you can tell the volunteers that you are doing this to honor Dolly and at the request of Indivisible Auburn.
