Join Freedom Trainers, Labor for Democracy, and May Day Strong for a 1.5 hour virtual training on how labor and worker power can help defeat authoritarianism. We will cover the authoritarian threat, its impact on lives of workers, and how to defeat it. We will especially focus on countering the all-out assault on our elections and freedom to organize at a scale that matches the severity of the threat. We'll explore the organizing skills and tools the labor movement was built on—structure tests, escalation campaigns, collective action, and strategic noncooperation—and how they can be used to build power and win. Research shows that movements with strong labor participation are among the most effective forces for advancing democracy. Participants will leave with concrete steps for taking action in their workplaces, unions, and communities.
