Mass demonstrations, like Hands Off!, NO KINGS, and Good Trouble Lives On, generate a tremendous amount of energy! We can't let that energy dissipate. We can harness it and turn it into action.
Come learn how to be an organizer and make change in your community. We'll teach you all the things we wish we'd known when we got started. We often have guest speakers on topics like Immigrant Rights, Indigenous History, Cybersecurity, How to Protest Safely, and more!
Our special guest speaker this week will discuss what's happening in ICE concentration camps that's not being shown to our visiting legislators or the public - rotten food, denial of medications and medical care, racism, the usage of solitary confinement cells to force people to sign deportation papers, and more.
He was violently arrested by ICE and locked up in GEO for 10 months despite being in the US legally since 2004. He's a scientist with multiple degrees. He was denied medication for his heart condition and was hospitalized as soon as he was released. He has no criminal record, paid his taxes, created multiple businesses, and has always tried his best to be kind and respectful to others.
One of the first objectives of civil resistance movements is to attract more people to the movement and mobilize them into action. It has been demonstrated that no movement with 3.5% of the population engaged in continuous mobilization has ever failed - but they used other actions beyond mass demonstrations. Join us in planning actions to make this happen.
Solidarity Warriors is an action-focused, Indivisible group formed after the November election. We're one of the main groups organizing mass demonstrations in Denver. We're made up of people from across the nation, many in Colorado. We're focused on action rather than just airing political grievances, so please come prepared to talk about what you want to DO to resist the new administration and protect vulnerable communities.
